What Is Distributor

Jul 07, 2022

The distributor consists of a circuit breaker, a distributor, a capacitor and an ignition advance adjustment mechanism. It is a part of the gasoline engine ignition system that regularly transmits high-voltage current to the spark plugs of each cylinder according to the cylinder ignition sequence. The distributor is used to connect and cut off the low-voltage circuit, so that the ignition coil generates high-voltage current, and according to the ignition sequence of the engine, within a specified time, the high-voltage electricity is distributed to the sparks of each cylinder to ignite the mixture. Distributors are mainly used in traditional ignition systems and ordinary electronic ignition systems.
